Intersorb 812 approved for use in rEvo Rebreathers

Intersorb® 812 distributed by Dive Long is approved for use in rEvo Rebreathers

Dive-grade soda lime Intersorb® 812 has been approved for use in all rEvo Rebreather products distributed by Dive Long. Dive Long is the US based distributer or Intersorb® 812 and rEvo Rebreathers, the Belgium based manufacturer of the rEvo II and rEvo III closed circuit rebreathers.

Manufactured in the UK by Intersurgical, Intersorb® 812 is an 8-12 mesh (1.0-2.5mm) dive grade soda lime that is distributed by Dive Long. Intersorb® 812 was recently evaluated by rEvo Rebreathers in tests according to the EN14143 standard. rEvo is approving Intersorb® 812 for use in their rebreather products, based on these test results, with the following recommendations:

39°F to 59°F Water Temperature
Maximum dive time recommended*: 2hrs 30mins or one cycle every 1hr 45mins

59°F (or above) Water temperature
Maximum dive time recommended*: 4hrs 30mins or one cycle every 3 hours

*based on constant O2 consumption of 1.33l/min at 30RMV (at 40m depth, with air diluent, and minimum 1.25kg scrubber material in each canister). No assumption should be made for longer durations because of eventual lower oxygen consumption.

Users of rEvo rebreathers will find that Intersorb® 812 is a very cost-effective solution, based on its competitive price and total fill weight of 5.5lb (2.8lb per scrubber canister).

Intersorb® 812 is available in 45lb kegs and can be purchased directly from Dive Long and and rEvo Rebreathers, which has been manufacturing and selling rebreathers since 2007 and now has more than 400 in use globally. The rEvo III has full CE approval.

Intersorb® 812 and Spherasorb® 408 – Intersurgical’s carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbent products aimed at rebreather diving – are distributed exclusively in the United States from Dive Long.
